Partner Brian Greenwood Obtains Defense Verdict in Nassau County Medical Malpractice Trial
Brian Greenwood obtained a defendant’s verdict on behalf of his client, a plastic surgeon. Plaintiff commenced suit seeking recovery for cosmetic deformities she allegedly sustained as a result of improper injection of a synthetic filler. It was alleged the filler was used improperly as part of an off-label training session. Plaintiff claimed that as a result of the injections she developed visible lumps under her eyes which had to be surgically removed. Plaintiff alleged she was forced to undergo over 10 surgical procedures to excise the material and required facial reconstruction to correct the deformities. The jury returned a verdict in favor of Brian’s client, however, the jury awarded $950,000 to the plaintiff in damages as they found the co-defendant, a subsequent treating physician, liable to the plaintiff.
