Lewis Johs Represents J. Kings in Merger with Sysco Corp.

Lewis Johs Avallone Aviles, LLP represented family-owned J. Kings Food Service Professionals, Inc. (J.Kings) in its sale to publicly traded company, Sysco Corporation (NYSE:SYY), the world’s largest broadline food service distributor.

Lewis Johs executed the successful closing on August 12, 2019 on behalf of the seller J. Kings, one of the largest privately-owned foodservice distributors in the Northeast United States with annual sales of approximately $150 million.   The Lewis Johs team was led by partner James F. Murphy with the able assistance of associates Annemarie S. Jones and Adam H. Silverstone.

Kings, headquartered in Holtsville, New York, was founded by John King more than 45 years ago. Under John’s leadership, it grew to be one of the leading independent broad-line distributors in the New York area, also servicing customers in Connecticut and New Jersey. The majority of the company’s customers are independent restaurant operators, institutional, retail and multi-unit customers.
