Summary Judgment Successfully Obtained by Attorney Sean Brodersen
Associate Sean Brodersen successfully moved for summary judgment in an action venued in Suffolk County. In this medical malpractice case, the plaintiff sued both individually and as administrator of her husband’s estate to recover damages sustained allegedly when the defendants failed to timely perform pericardiocentesis on the plaintiff’s husband during his hospital admission, resulting in the husband’s death. Our clients were two cardiologists and their cariology practice who treated plaintiff’s decedent. In granting Sean’s motion, the Court agreed that our client cardiologists did not deviate from the applicable standard of care in treating the decedent. Moreover, in the absence of any negligence on behalf of the cardiologists, the Court also granted summary judgment in favor of the cardiology group.
