April 2010.  Lewis Johs Attorney Rebecca K. Devlin prevailed in opposing plaintiff's motion for leave to amend plaintiff's complaint to include allegations of negligent hiring, training and supervision against Lewis Johs' client, school bus company, and to compel production of the bus driver's 19-A file and employee file.  The Supreme Court, Rockland County, denied plaintiff's motion in its entirety.  The court determined that plaintiff's application to amend the complaint to add allegations of negligent hiring and/or supervision was insufficient.  The court went on to note that since there was no valid claim of negligent hiring before the court, Lewis Johs' clients were not required to produce the 19-A file and employee file.
