On May 1, 2012, Michael T. Colavecchio participated in "Trial of a Medical Malpractice Case," a Continuing Legal Education program offered by the Suffolk County Bar Association.  A three part series, the program features eleven other top lawyers in the field, as well as two Supreme Court Justices.  Mr. Colavecchio served as the sole defense attorney for week one of the program, which entailed selection of a jury and opening statements.   

The program, attended by many of the Suffolk County Bar Association's members, follows a trial over a three week period, with a mock trial performed based on the facts of a recent wrongful death medical malpractice case tried in Suffolk County.  Mr. Colavecchio initially lectured to the audience on his approach to jury selection and opening statements, and then proceeded to select a jury and present an opening statement.  The evening was followed by a question and answer session.
