06/01/2010

On June 21, 2010 Lewis Johs Attorney Christine A. Champey was the guest lecturer at a course at New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies entitled, “Putting Your Law Degree into Practice” at the Washington Square Location.  The main instructor was Dr. Mary Campbell Gallagher.

The course examined the major practice areas and qualifications for jobs in the field of law. The course  also explored ways in which junior lawyers can improve their resumes and contacts by taking continuing legal education courses, joining professional organizations, writing for professional publications, and public speaking. In addition, junior lawyers can learn from veteran lawyers about their career histories, current job status, practice areas, and plan how to qualify for similar positions in today's tight job market. This course was ideal for current law students and recent law graduates.

Dr. Gallagher will soon publish a book entitled Perform Your Best on the Multistate Performance Test (MPT).  She will be acknowledging Christine’s research assistance in this book. Christine has worked with Dr. Gallagher in preparing and teaching students from around the world on how to prepare for the New York Bar Exam.
