A well regarded appellate practitioner, Ann has pursued and defended appeals to every appellate court, both State and Federal, in the State of New York. Ann's many years of appellate advocacy on behalf of the insurance defense industry throughout the State has been instrumental in creating a state-wide body of caselaw favorable to the insurance industry. Ann has over twenty five years of defense litigation experience, with particular expertise in complex dispositive motion analysis and appeals. Prior to joining Lewis Johs, Ann was the managing attorney for an appellate firm that was retained by insurance carriers and trial counsel to undertake appeals involving general negligence issues, as well as construction accidents, indemnity issues, insurance coverage, school district liability, and post-trial appellate matters both as to liability and damages. Ann also has several years of experience as counsel to a large municipality, where in addition to handling appellate issues in State and Federal appellate courts, she successfully represented the municipality before the U.S. Department of Justice, in federal civil rights actions, litigations alleging police and prosecutorial misconduct, land use matters, municipal contract and bidding matters, as well as challenges to the executive and legislative branches' authority.

Ann obtained her juris doctor degree from New York Law School in 1981, and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from Adelphi University in 1978. She is admitted to practice law in all the courts of the State of New York, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit.
